Follow Up to the Firestone Drama…

After I found out (from another mechanic) that there were NO leaks in my car, I took the advice of a couple people here and filed a formal complaint with the BBB. A few days later, I got a call from the head of the company, asking for the store location so that the manager could contact me. (The manager was the person who had given me the false information in the first place, so I wasn't expecting much.) I never heard from the manager. I did, however, get this today from the BBB: The response I received from our store manager was the following: I, Jeffrey Duncan, store manager of Syracuse NY Firestone, completely stand by the recommendations made. Both the rack & pinion and power steering pump were leaking while the vehicle was here for service. Exact pricing was unavailable due to the time of vehicle service. A verbal "guesstimate" was given per customer request. The customer was escorted into the service bays to observe the leaks with me. That is straight-up BULLSHIT. He did not take me into the service bays, AT ALL, let alone show me the non-existant leaks. All he did was try to scare me into paying for unnecessary repairs, and to sign up for a credit card. I even more infuriated that he lied about "showing me the leaks"... obviously, if I had SEEN leaks, I wouldn't have filed a complaint. But I most assuredly was NOT taken into the service area. A friend of mine says you can file a formal rebuttal, but I can't seem to find any way to do that on the local BBB website (my friend is in Seattle). I did email the woman from the BBB back, letting her know that what the manager told her was patently false, but is there another step I should take?
