Food Not Bombs

Food Not Bombs

Since we've had so much discussion about food programs lately, I thought I'd mention Food Not Bombs. Basically, it's a loose organization of local groups (mainly in the U.S. and Canada, but there are also a few elsewhere) that serve free vegetarian/vegan meals to anyone who wants to eat.

Wikipedia has a very descriptive article--however, its list of cities served is not complete (I know this because none of the groups in my state are listed)! For a complete list, you're better off going to the official Food Not Bombs site, and clicking on "Contact your local Food Not Bombs group."

If anyone here has eaten at a Food Not Bombs chapter and/or volunteered at one, I'd love to hear about your experiences in the comments. I don't have any first-hand experience with any FNB activities.
