Hi all; I know a lot of you share my true love for Bleeding Hearts, and so I just had to share this with you all!
We returned home from a weekend in my home town visiting my family yesterday, and as always my first stop was to inspect the garden.
Everything is, as always, doing well and my newer plants have settled in nicely, but here was one thing I wasn’t expecting.
Remember I was worried about one of my two Bleeding Hearts as it seemed weak and sickly after being badly positioned in the garden centre? That poor, weak plant that I thought wasn’t going to make it spent the three days we were gone becoming the crowning glory of my border thus far!
When the older leaves began turning yellow with age I thought both the Bleeding Hearts had passed their season, but it seems that they flower and put out new leaves for longer in England than they do in the States! Probably because England is wetter (I assume), but either way both of them are flourishing and seem to love the wet, heavy clay soil we have here!
Both of the Bleeding Hearts are doing really well and have spread out quite a bit since finding their way securely into the soil, but I’m so impressed with the one I thought I’d lose that I just had to share it with you all!
