For the Ladies

Saving money during "that time of the month." My period has always been a pretty major drain on my finances. Someone recommended that I try out a Diva Cup, since it's basically a one time purchase. I was leary, but went ahead and got one. I just finished my first period using the Diva Cup. It was fantastic! It's a silicon cup that catches the blood and you empty it in the toilet (much less gross than it sounds). It last for ten years. For someone like me, who has an extremely heavy period, this is saving me a bundle of money! It cost just over what I spend in two periods ($20 with shipping). I can't recommend it enough. This is the first period I have ever had that I didn't leak. I used a pad to make sure I'd gotten the hang of it, but ended up not needing it. It was easy to get the hang of (took about ten minutes of fiddling the first time) and a great relief on my finances. That's money I could really use every month! I bought mine through southcoastshopping.com (because they accept google check out, a good way to know a retailer is legit!) while it was on sale. It's available lots of places, so do some shopping around to find the best price.
