Freezing herbs

Freezing herbs

I read somewhere recently about freezing herbs in tin foil instead of drying them. I was wondering if any of you have any experience with/insight about this. The herbs in my garden that I may want to try this with are basil, chives, dill, fennel and parsley. Also, the fennel was in the garden when I moved in. I have never cooked with it. What do I do with it?
I hope this suppresses those darned weeds.
