garden boxes

garden boxes

we finished our standing boxes, surrounded by pavers and mulch. it's pretty. now i just need to go find some chard and lettuce seedlings. 2009-03-16 225 (Small) catnip with logs to keep the gardeners from weedwhacking it. that's pretty much what they do- weedwhack. EVERYTHING. :/ 2009-03-16 230 (Small) 1st teepee, this one was planned. the base is smaller than i wanted because j wanted to brick it in with the leftover bricks. 2009-03-16 229 (Small) second pea, all from found items in yard. they were on sale, i'm a sucker for sale plants :P 2009-03-16 227 (Small) side veiws of my gawgeous garden. needs moar veggies in center aisle. (empty pots are freshly seeded with marigolds and salvia)the first flower box is yeloow snaps and purple/varigated alyssum with a lavander on the far end and starwberry on the close end. middle box is only arugla and starwberry last box is a bells, jalepenos, serranos, tomatos, anaheims, and a cuke. the ground was weeded and then we put down weedblock fabric, the boxes, and mulch, the bricks are to keep the mulch in. i originally wanted to use pavers, but the mulch was cheaper. all said though, once we discovered the need for the bricks, i think it was almost even. i think the mulch is pretty, and this was i can put down pretty stepping stones if we find any. this is what we started with btw: box 1! mammflowers my cactus is blooming! gardentroll garden troll! this is boo's box. he has a swan river daisy, yellow snaps, purple dot flowers, and a mini watermelon.
