Garden Update

Garden Update

Things have really been happening in my garden; the Bleeding Hearts are pure monsters this year (yay!) and other perennials are bursting in to life. I've planted out three Earthwalker Sunflowers and three small clumps of Cornflower. I have a Clump of Candytuft and four small clumps of Cosmos yet to go out, and am waiting on Delphs and French Marigolds to get big enough to leave the greenhouse. Best of all, my Lemon Verbena - feared dead after the unexpected heavy snow at the beginning of the year - are sporting new growth! Well, two of them are and the other two won't be far behind! I'm so pleased! Also, the Forget-Me-Nots that I planted last year in memory of my best friend which I deemed to be fail (I planted them and they did... nothing) have taken over the little patch I put them in! How my Nan would laugh at that - not long before she passed away she told me that I'd never be rid of Forget-Me-Nots once I planted them and "Just you wait until next year". Well, she was right! Indoors a casualty has recovered! Remember that I broke a huge piece off the Tradascantia that was my Nan's when I suffered a seizure while I was moving it to clean? The broken section is in a pot of soil, and the other day I gave it a gentle tug and felt some resistance, meaning that it's rooted! It'll be a while before it fully establishes itself, of course, but now I have two Tradascantia to remember Nan by - both of which grew from cuttings she took from a plant I had 27 years ago! Thanks to all of you who reassured me that it would be fine - you were right! :D
