Hi my name is Nattie and I’ve just started messing around in the garden. I gardened a bit when I was a teenager in Australia but I havent had a garden to play in for about 7 years so I’m really excited I can garden again. I live in Canada now and I am happily digging up the gardens here to try to airate (sp?) the soil. I noticed that my soil is very clay like. I was wondering is anyone knows what i should put into the soil to make it less claylike. Would putting sand in it be good? I have bought some fertiliser to help things grow a bit it has bone compound and things in it. I dont mind adding more to the soil. I’m planning on growing vegetables and herbs. Maybe even some flowers also.
Also I was wondering if anyone knows that plants make a good combination when planting? I’ve heard that if you plant certain vegetables/herbs together they do really well.
I’m kinda new at this and I am just trying to figure things out before i spend money and time planting all these plants and are disappointed when my plants dont grow well.
