Getting clothes BLACK again

Getting clothes BLACK again

Hi everyone! I love this community, and am constantly checking in to see what I can put to use.

So my issue is this:
I love wearing mainly black clothes. For work it’s ideal, because I really only have about 5 pairs of work slacks that I alternate. I really don’t put much effort into buying the cutest work clothes I can find. I’m pretty content with black slacks, cute tops and cardigans. My complaint though, is that no matter how much care I put into washing my black items, they ultimatley fade, which is to be expected of course. So, even though I’m not exactly in a tight spot financially, (I’m actually pretty much ok, thank god!), I have decided to stop buying new black clothes everytime they start to fade. $45 for pants and $30 for tops (each) can be annoying to spend when about every 3 months I buy 4-5 new items of each pants and tops. So, to keep my blacks fresh, how would you recommend my dyeing the clothes? I know that several people re-vamp their clothes by dyeing them, so I think this would be perfect for my black clothes!

Where would I buy the dye?
What kind of dye would I buy and how much of it?
Where would I mix the dye/let the clothes soak?
Would I have to wash this clothes seperatley from the other clothes so the dye won’ t run and ruin everything else?
Any and all tips would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

*ETA:
Thank you to everyone who responded! I will be doing some experiments this weekend with all of the wonderful info you have all provided me with! :)
