I’m sitting here wrapping gifts, trying to beat the post office Christmas rush, and I thought I’d share this tip before I forget to post it.
One of the BEST tips I ever learned from my mom is the recycling idea of gift tags made from old cards.
Every year I get a slough of cards, I hang them up in one central location for all to see until after the season. Some I decide to keep forever in a keepsake box but others are kept for their artwork and recycling into unique tags. It doesn’t matter if there is handwriting on the back of the tag, that side will be taped down to the package.
I trim out the pictures and the words on cards and then use them for the next year’s Christmas gifts. I always end up with plenty of tags and never have to purchase labels or tags for any gift occasion. Using scrapbook scissors is a good idea also so that you have ornate edges around the tags.
