I see in the papers that the Chelsea Flower Show is about to happen. I won’t be there but it seems timely to mention the correspondence I’ve just had with the Secretary of my local agricultural show.

Please could you advise me about access to the show for a person of limited mobility? I will arrive by car with my blue Disabled badge. I’d like to use a parking bay very close to the showground main entrance.

I thank you for your email. We can supply you with the appropriate pass for parking actually on the showground, which has to be signed by me – so please let me have your address. The parking near the showground main entrance is used by Cattle Wagons on the day.
If you get back to me asap then I can pop you one in the post with pleasure.

I haven’t needed special arrangement like this before, but now that I do, I’m really pleased with the response I’ve had from this lady. When we arrive I’m going to ask whether my OH can get in free as my carer, too.
