Gosh darn it all to heck!!
I went out to take some photos of my black magic elephant ear because I had thought it had some sort of powdery mildew or something on it but I couldn't find anything online so I was going to ask you guys. Well, I get out there to take photos and take a good hard look at the ears and it is Red Spider Mites. I absolutely hate red spider mites. They attack my dahlias every year and eventually get so bad I have to just cut the things back. I didn't even realize they attacked elephant ears. So my question now is how do I get rid of a whole lot of them? I am going to have to treat a bunch of large plants because the dahlias are sitting right next to the ears. Thanks for the help.
Also while I was out there, I found a friend. It is a crab spider according to my daughter but I wanted to warn ahead of time that I posted the pic. Last time I posted the picture of the snake and didn't even realize that not every one wants to see pictures of snakes. Sorry. But here is the spider and the sick elephant ears in all their glory. Thanks!
I just thought he was pretty cool. I like seeing the camouflage;
