Grass and bugs
Hi all! I think I'm new here. Can't remember if I've posted before in here or not. Anyway I need some advice. Late last year I planted 2'x2' section of grass in my back yard. This was mainly an experamint of mine to see if I had a green thumb or not. It worked. My main problem was that I began to see all kinds of little bugs in the grass. Some flew, some didn't. In addition to this I seen one catapillar and one large black bug. I don't know what it was. It was already dead. I plan to grow more grass this year and since I will have children back there I can't really have it infested with bugs. What should I do? I bought some insecticide ready to use in a bottle. It was a red bottle called Seven. Something like that. I never used it. I figured since winter was coming, might as well let nature take it's course and continue in the Spring time. Well now it's nearly April and I will be planting my grass soon. What kind of pest control do you reccomend. What do you use. My husband jokes that I will be killing bugs and poisoning the grass and harming the skin of anyone who walks or sits in it. I don't know if he's right or not. I want something that will be effective against as many insects as possible, yet I don't want to harm the dogs or anyones skin. Your thoughts? Oh yes, please don't be rude and tell me about how could I go about poisoning natures natural inhabitants. I've gone through that with others. I just can't be around bugs. Thanks!
