Green beans!!!!!!!!

Green beans!!!!!!!!

Well, my green beans are ready! :) After work, I picked a bunch off the plants and had enough for three people... and I'm meaning a hefty-sized serving each! More little beans are growing now, as well. So, I've never had green beans from the garden before. They're... odd. Incredibly delicious, but odd. They got really flimsy when we cooked them tonight (we didn't want them crunchy... we wanted them like when they come out of the can!) which was odd. In fact, at first I thought I accidentally grabbed the OLD tupperware container with green beans and these were the rotten beans, but nope, they were the fresh ones! LOL It's just something I have to get used to. I think the house chef cooked them a bit too long. ;) Oh man guys, they were DELICIOUS!!! When I harvest more beans in a week or whenever, I'll make sure they aren't cooked as long. :) Also, I pulled up all of my radishes a few weeks ago. They were THE BEST radishes I've ever tasted in my life! Perfectly round. Bright red with white bottoms. LARGE. Oh man... they were picture perfect like the kind you see on the seed packet. LOL They were about half-dollar sized, too (thank you Indiana soil!). Also, my mesclun has been harvested more than once. Not sure if I like it. It's very spicy! My cantaloupe and watermelon vines are now about 4 feet long! They have gorgeous yellow and white flowers. Will those flowers turn into melons? :) My pumpkin vines are about 3 feet long. This morning, there were huge orange pumpkin blooms. I don't think I've ever smelled a flower so sweet. :) My peas are ready to harvest, too, I think! :) The pods are fat and round. Also, my beefsteak tomato plants are about 3 feet in height now! Lots and lots of flowers EVERYWHERE on the plants and some have the little green tomatoes emerging from them. We're going to have so many tomatoes. I also checked on my scarlet nantes carrots. They're about... an inch long. LOL I dug one up today. It's about the cutest thing I've ever seen. How long does it take for carrots to mature? They've been in the ground since late May/early June. Lost causes: Green pepper, kohl rabi, onion (that was my fault....), cherry tomatoes, and strawberries. It's not like the plants died... the seedlings never emerged. :( Oh well. Not bad for my first time gardening! :D I'm going to sew another row of radishes this weekend. Those radishes were addicting. LOL
