I have looked in the community but did not see anything about this. I admit I did not search as hard as I might have though so if this is a repeat I'm sorry. I just got a call from my Mom and Dad. My Grandmother has passed away to say I'm grieving is an understatement. I desperately want to get down to her funeral and hubby says we will put it on the credit card if need be. I looked at flights and the cheapest are 550-600 round trip. I can take Greyhound for $198 round trip using the military fare. It is only a 12 hour drive down and 16 hour drive back. I am leaning big time to this option. I will probably be traveling alone. Has any used Greyhound? Are they okay safety wise? Any advice or warnings? If I do it via Greyhound we can avoid putting it on a card. I have my pantry stocked up for just such emergencies so I can skip my shopping trip mid month and there is an easy 200 saved. My grocery cost is high because we have 2 adults and 4 teenagers(one of whom is a 14yo boy with a black hole instead of a stomach). I always keep at least a months worth of everything in the freezers and pantry. It's like a savings account I can't spend. So is Greyhound good?
