Grr. I hate credit cards.
My credit card's interest rate was increased by 3% at the end of the October billing cycle (effective on the November 9th statement). According to the CSR, this was an across the board change, everyone got it, and oh yeah, notification was mailed out in July. I never received said information (I read through this stuff pretty closely), so I ask for them to retroactively change it back for 15 days, send me the notice, then after 15 days, change it back to it's new amount, citing the federal law that gives me that 15 days. They are sorry, they understand what I'm saying, but they can't do it. If I think it's a legal matter, I need to speak with someone else, but that person isn't there. They don't know who it is I would report them to at the federal level, but do I want the address for correspondence? What makes this worse is I spoke with someone about my interest rate back in September, they decreased my interest rate, we discussed things that affect the rate, and this was NEVER MENTIONED. Grr. I really want to go cash only, but I travel regularly (family is 2000 miles away in one direction, and 1000 miles away in another), and like having the card to help out with that so when I purchase travel arrangements, I don't tie up the debit card. There are other reasons too, but that is the biggie. I applied for another card, and am willing to take the hit to the fico score and apply for one more. Anyone have any suggestions for a credit card with low interest rates? I've looked at bankrate.com, and while I'm sure they are fairly reliable, they don't really list things that are more subjective.
