Shots of my room
Hey everyone! I belonged to this site last year when my mom and i moved to a rental. we have since moved into our new house that we own. so here's my before and after shots of my room. :) i really am a very lucky girl. i got the master bedroom because i wanted to paint the walls and i looove hardwood floors, and my mom likes carpet, so we switched. i have ten foot ceilings and wide pine (i think) floors. the yellow was waaaay to cutesy, so i chose to paint the walls a mid-toned gray, and i have red gloss trim. i love it. :) before: after: before after (and yes, i do have three closets. one is a cedar and the other two are regular.) dont ask why my sister's crap is all over my room. i have no idea. she's home from Costa Rica and im home from college, and the only "real" bedrooms are mine and my mom's. the third bedroom in the house is now our den, because my sister doesnt come home that often. she gets the pullout sofa. mwaahahaha. i also got this cool little area, which i call my "nook". the door is really the door to the attic, but there's about four feet of floor space on the platform which means i can sit up there all night if i want to. before after ('scuse the crappy paintjob. i am a painting n00b!) and here's my saddle, just cause every equestrienne must have a saddle cover that matches their room. i also have a question. i have these two gorgeous lamps made of crystal that my grandfather gave me, and i reeeally want to use them in my room. while im home for school, i hope to find places for both of them, right now theyre chillin' with my TV. there is a lot of dark area in my room, and even though i have a lot of lamps, my windows are lacking any sort of treatment at the moment so when i have my ceiling fan light on, my neighbors get a peep-show. so i like the lower lighting, so im not stripping for the old people next-door. here they are: but im not sure how to work them into the design scheme i want, which is conducive to making clothes and displaying the art i make (im an art major, so i have a tonnnnn!). im planning on getting a ladder, carpeting my "nook", finding jewelry storage, a bigger desk to put my sewing machine on, pivoting my bed, and using my artwork as decoration. so much to do!! any imput would be helpful!! thanks!
