Happy Plants

Happy Plants

Today for the first time I was able to put my little seedlings out for a little bit of sun. I left them out for an hour and then bought them back inside. It's funny how the rowdy squash doesn't look as big outside as it does in the dining room under the plant light.

ID's
Back - squash - yellow and zucchini
Right front - coleus and in back in the same tray celosia
Left front - marigolds

I was also very pleased to see that some of the marigold seeds made it through the winter and have sprouted. This means I won't have to do any work getting this planter going. Here's a few of them.

Also happy to see that my idea of putting low maintenance perennials into the tire planter has paid off. I won't need to spend money on any plants for that either. And hopefully won't have to wate it. Yah I know, too much ask for. :) When I first discovered this planter all that was still alive from the former home owner was the dianthus. Now it also has hens with chicks, an opunta cactus, a very rowdy coopers ice plant, dusty miller and a burgundy glow ajuga. I think I'll be able to move some cuttings to elsewhere in the yard if it gets too crowded.
