My fiance recently got a good job where he lives in Florida. I live in Indiana and he was going to move here beginning of fall, but since he has this 16/hr job now, I’ve decided to move down there… I have about 1200 in the bank right now, I’m hoping to be out of here by end of August if not earlier… but I’m not sure how much I should save before then.
For another, I’ve been researching how much the move is going to cost. I have no car, the car I was driving is in my dad’s name and he is planning on taking it back from me so I will not have a vehicle to worry about. My fiance has no furniture and nothing really of his own besides a stereo, a computer, and some clothes. I however have everything.. I recently got a new matress and my tv is only a couple years old. I also have all my kitchen stuff and bathroom stuff, not to mention my full closet of junk (in which I plan to get rid of a lot of it at a yard sale)… I’ve been looking at prices on the smallest moving van and it’s still going to be around 1,000. But I’ve heard when you move out of state and rent one of these moving vans, you’re bound to run into trouble. Has anyone done this/have any advice for me?
Also, what should I know about Florida? (I haven’t been there that many times and don’t know a whole lot about laws/poor skills, etc!
