Hello Again, Goutweed

Hello Again, Goutweed

So, let's put forward a hypothetical situation: there's a shady corner of the garden in which goutweed was once allowed to grow unhindered. Eventually, this corner of the garden was reclaimed for more productive plants (which didn't like it there, but whatever, next on the list to try is rhubarb, and I'm told that's also invasive, so it can fight, and there's talk of taking up some of the space with a rain barrel). To do so, the hypothetical gardener took great pleasure in turning that bed with a good sturdy fork and pulling all the goutweed, plant and root alike, she could find. The next spring, of course, it was back, but said hypothetical gardener persevered, and continues to do so in the hope of killing the [email protected]%&$%@*&#! stuff someday. Hopeless cause?
