help to fix a cold floor?
The floor in my cabin (16'x32') is ridiculously cold. I know this is because the floor is only six inches thick, that's not nearly enough R. The cabin is elevated 4 feet off the ground to eliminate permafrost complications. Giving the cabin a skirt (like people do to elevated trailer homes) is not an option because of the permafrost. I rent, so installing wall-to-wall carpet, floor tile, or the like is not an option. We do have two large carpet squares and four small area rugs that help somewhat, but I can't even stand on those in my bare feet. (of course, I'm normally bundled up to compensate for the low setting on my heater, but just as an example...) I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have any suggestions that will work in my situation?
