Herbs in Low-Light?

Herbs in Low-Light?

Hi all, I am completely new to this community, and well, to gardening, but I'm hoping that you all can help me out here. :) I live in a little 2 bedroom apartment. I was hoping to grow some herbs on my balcony this spring/summer to use for cooking, but as I started looking into it, it seems like most herbs need high light. My balcony is east-facing, and is shaded in late afternoon, so doesn't seem to get a lot of sun. Unfortunately, none of my other windows get very good light either, due to the very close proximity of the other buildings. I think I saw somewhere that mint would be okay, but are there other herbs that are okay in low-ish light situations? I was really hoping to grow some basil, parsley, etc, but am I SOL? Thanks in advance!
