Hollyhocks in containers?

Hollyhocks in containers?

Hello again! I think I mentioned this before, but I've got some heirloom black hollyhock seeds that I'd like to plant, but since they are a biennial, I'd like to be able to take them with me should I ever move out of my current apartment. Is it possible to grow hollyhocks in a large container, set out in the garden with everything else? Or would there be problems with the roots, growth stunting, etc.? Has anyone done this successfully?
