I just started trying sushi... beginner stuff with crab etc. Now I am trying to make it at home and would love any advice from other homemade sushi homemakers! *wink*
I am having problems with the rice. Regular rice doesn't work... and I don't have sushi rice. I recently purchased arborio rice (usually used for risotto) and wondered if I could get by with this for now?

Below is my first attempt. You can see that the roll is very loose and the rice was dry. I also had a problem cutting the roll as it would squish! But I think that is because I am not rolling tight enough.
