I was issued a bill to pay a copay for a hospital visit March. There was no prior billing stating what services were received. I contacted billing and faxed a note disputing the billing. I was told they would put the account on hold till they resolved the issue.
I am disputing the bill since all I did was sign into the hospital but received no health care. I was told by the doctor to visit another hospital that they could not help me since it was a children’s hospital. I was pretty upset since I sat in the waiting room for ten plus hours in a lot of pain to be told no one could help.
What do you think the chances of this bill being refunded? Out of principle I do not feel I should pay for this. Am I out of line? What should I expect?
