Hot Pots Part Deux

Hot Pots Part Deux

I bought a super chili plant from the farmers' market last spring, and it in its 10 inches of glory produced enough fruit to last me well into this coming May. Since it was still bearing red hot chili bombs last October, I brought it inside for the winter, where it whiled away the months next to the back patio door. I wondered, periodically, if it would produce more fruit this year. Last week, it answered my question by producing six or seven little white blossoms! I took some cuttings of the longer branches, in an attempt to make it bushier this year...(the blossoms are on the new growth popping up from the bottom and middle of the stem...) and put those cuttings in water. With any luck, I'll have five chili plants before long! I'm also planning on getting some more container tomato plants, as well as some herbs that do well in partial sun. (My balcony faces east, so I have direct sunlight in the morning and shade in the afternoon.) I might get a cascading strawberry basket, if I can figure out a way to hang something from my overhang and its new vinyl coverings... and will plant the seeds from my cheery little dwarf sunflower plants from last year.
