If this is somewhat off topic I apologize, but googling advice on this is getting me nowhere and I’d really like to know the best way to take care of this mess.
So earlier this weekend I discovered the lovely grass-like plant shown below growing out of the sink drain in my tomato-starting/reptile terrarium room, the drain that has bits of soil and snake/gecko bedding rinsed down it on a fairly regular basis. I would like to know what the heck it is (I’m not sure what my husband uses for the reptile bedding but I’m guessing it’s related to that) and what is the best way to eradicate it from the disposal unit. Turning on the disposal affects it about the same way as a lawnmower on grass, so I’m thinking chemicals are the way to go. Will a bottle of Draino down the drain do the trick, should I spray a weedkiller down there, or do I have to take the food disposal out and sterilize the whole mess?
For reference on size, that long white thing on the side is a finger from a disposable plastic glove. And the little white balls on the bottom appear to be the seeds from which these things are sprouting.
