H&R Block for employment.

H&R Block for employment.

I’m not sure if this is exactly a poor skill, but because I have literally no money and depend on my significant other to pay my bills right now I thought people might forgive me for posting this here.

I’ve been searching for some sort of job since January. I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in December and it’s been a bit difficult to find any job because I’m either too qualified or not qualified enough for something. I really have no previous employment history that I am comfortable sharing on job applications so all I have to go off of is my experience during my 5 years in undergraduate.

Having said this, I came across a listing for a part time/seasonal job at H&R Block as a tax preparer but I see that they want me to take a class first. This makes sense to me, but the class costs $137.00 and there is no guarantee that they will extend an offer of employment after the completion. Since I have student loans coming due very soon (yes, I am getting deferments for some but there is one I can’t defer and I have credit card payments to make as well) and I’m pretty much scrambling to find anything, I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with this and could give me some advice?

Basically: Is it worth it or should I just stick out the job search and try other places?

Also, if someone knows of a community where they discuss help with job type stuff, that would be awesome. I suck at finding that sort of thing.

Thanks in advance!
