But recently I have had some pretty bad neurological issues, and a couple of things I have discovered in the process of being uninsured and having to seek medical help- firstly, if you are someone who needs insurance but has been declined- generally you can get on your state's High Risk Insurance Pool, if they have one. I know Missouri does, now and am in the process of muddling through. For some, that might be a well, duh, but I didn't know, so I figure, some might not, either.

Also, the togetherrx card is a wonderful thing for low income people who need prescription help. I got a 70 dollar medication for 10, and a 12 dollar for about 5. It's definitely worth it, and doesn't cost anything.

I've also found out that one of our local health care systems here in the Saint Louis outlying rural area has a nice program where I only pay 50 dollars at the office, but am billed for the rest. Pretty much, no matter what I have to do within their network of offices, it's fifty, the rest goes on my "tab" so to speak, and yes, I still have to pay full price for my care, but, I am able to pay a really affordable monthly payment. I know alot of people are having issues with healthcare, and when my problems came up again I was terrified- but, I called around and checked anyway as I HAD to get care. I am sure quite a few places work like this, and this isn't like the county health department- it's through one of the major hospitals in the area. Hope this helps someone. :) I've gotten alot of great support and I'm just trying to give back a bit of what I've gotten.

(not sure if I am supposed to tag this or not, please let me know)
