OK guys, I have a lot of questions. I applied for a job at my local public library. On Wednesday the HR person said she was reviewing applications and was going to send the top 5 to the hiring manager. What is a reasonable amount of time to wait to hear something back before calling them again? (Actually I went down there in person to ask since I couldn’t get ahold of her over the phone; that shows I’m interested doesn’t it?!) Is it reasonable to ask why I didn’t get into the top 5 if that be the case?
See the thing is I have a rather, well, diverse resume. Mostly due to college and moving around with that a lot, and being a musician. Now I’ve been out of school for over a year and have yet to find a day job I like enough to stick with. Also I feel like in my past jobs they really have not given me a chance to reach my full potential. How do I get that across to these people?! In the job description they were looking for customer service experience; well I have about as much customer service experience as anyone.
I guess my point here is what should my next move be?? I hate this so much; it’s driving me absolutely batty. >:(
