I kill houseplants
So, my most recent attempt at having a house plant is a peace lilly a friend brought me. She had to break hers up and brought me a little plant, she told me it might be droopy for a couple days, since it had just been broken up. This was Thursday, its actually gotten droopier every day since. On Friday, I put it outside to get some sun, since my house has very few windows that were placed to let in very little sunlight. I have only watered it enough to make sure the soil was slightly moist to the touch, since everything else I killed was due to over watering. Right now its outside again, its cloudy out, but still brighter then inside my house. So... Is my plant dying because of my black thumb, or is it normal to wilt progressively until it perks back up again after it has been broken away from its mates? What can I do to ensure this little guy grows healthy and strong? And, so that I don't take up a whole nother post later, I want to put a flower pot in my windowless bathroom, what kind of plant will survive this? I am willing to take the plant outside for sunlight as needed, but we do vacation now and then so it would have to be able to survive days, maybe even weeks with out sunlight. Really, a white orchid would be perfect in there, but my husband won't let me buy one, cause I will just kill it.
