This is Viola odorata “Rosina” and as you would guess from the name, it has quite a strong scent, of raspberries. I got it from selectseeds.com and I have to say I heartily endorse them as a mail-order, my plants were gloriously healthy when I received them. I only wish I’d bought more of them.

I’m having a great week for starting seeds, my lavender finally germinated, I have a few slender seedlings growing. Also, we already have radishes (under cut) and seedlings in the coriander/sorrel planter. Has anyone tried radishes in a container? My soil is not particularly kind to root veg, so I thought I’d use a big container to try a little row of radishes since I wasn’t growing anything else in it and only have a short amount of time to try them out anyway (it will get too hot quite soon.) The seeds were free, so it was worth a try.
