If you were me, would you take the job?
I am going out of the state at the end of May for a summer research program. So finding a long-term job is hard. I am currently a temp worker with Kelly Services, as well as a tutor. So far, Kelly has been able to find me jobs that pays above minimum wage, but most of these assignments last 2-3 days. And then I find myself going 1-2 weeks without a job outside of my one-hour-a-week tutoring with one student. The thing is, I wouldn't feel that I need the money so badly if I wasn't stuck in a terrible living situation. But since I am, and I'm trying to get out, not having work for 1-2 weeks outside the one-hour-a-week tutoring is making me feel despair. So my friend offered me a job at his archery store. But it's minimum wage (around $7), and public transportation to get there will be roughly $4. If I take this job, it will be full-time, and since Kelly is notorious for calling me in the morning to tell me, "We found a position that you're qualified for" it wouldn't do for me to ask my friend if I can take the day off to work for Kelly even if there's a chance it might be a 7-day assignment as opposed to a 1-3 day assignment. If you were me, would you take the job at the archery store? (The plus side is that he said he'd drive me home after work so it's roughly $4/day for 6 days a week and I get to learn how to shoot archery)
