Important heating questions.

Important heating questions.

I'm trying to be cheap about my heating situation. I rent a house and its HORRIBLE in the winter's due to poor insulation. I have decided I cannot live here next year but I am currently having concerns. Its been costing me SO much to heat the place every month (I have oil) and I only keep the thermostat at 60 degrees. The past few days I am so broke that I have been putting kerosene in the tank at 5 gallons a pop (13 dollars and change) and that only lasts two days. But the minimum shipment for oil is 300 dollars (which I seriously lack) and that only lasts in this place for a month. Not too mention its going to be April soon. Not that that means much in my area (PA) but it has been steadily warming up. I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on how to keep a place warmer aside from attempting to insulate as best you can (I have). What kind of things will stabalize the temp so the heat doesn't keep kicking on? Would opening my blinds on a sunny day help? The oven being on for a few. Its currently a little bit under 50. I can survive comfort wise but I do have a wee one (shes 2) and am concerned.
