input for strawberries and guinea pig poop
so i went out in the garden today and dug up the overgrown mess that was my bloomed out tomoatoes from last year. i seem to be in a 9-10 zone. i'm in long beach ca, about 15 miles from the coast. i picked up some ornamental kale, starwberries, a few primroses, snapdragons, and a orange wallflower (which smells AWESOME). i've never grown wallflowers before. pot or garden polt? is it too early in the year for strawberries? i know you have to remove the first batch of blossoms, so if i do that i should have berries in june/july. i can put them in large tub with my basil and oregano, or they can go in the vegetable garden. the garden gets east to west sunshine almost all day. and i have guinea pigs. i've been throwing the poop and scraps of timothy hay/pellets at the base of my avo tree (there is also wandering jew, charlie, reed orchids and agapanthas there). they seem to be doing ok. does anyone else up guinea pig poop as fertilizer? they eat a strictly vegetarian diet. *the ornamental kale will go under the tree as well. i hope it likes it there. edited for pics WIP ya, it needs work. we are in a water shortage, but just had some lovely lovely rainstorms. i need pretties.
