My boyfriend recently aquired a ’93 Cutlasse for only $400. Aside from a few minor parts its a great deal and works fine. The problem is insurance. He’s on disability and receives $450 a month from Social Security. He is 26, has never been in a car wreck, and won’t be driving very much at all.
We checked with Geico and their quote for his insurance was something like $150 which he can’t really afford. We’d like some tips on the best, cheapest insurance companies and the best ways to get your rate lowered (for example, my dad said that telling the company that you’ll only be driving 1000 miles a year gets your rate siginificantly lower.) What, in your experience, lowers an insurance rate quote?
