Hi, I’m new. I’m not much of a gardener…ok, I’m not a gardener at all. But my husband and I bought a house in August and it came with very neglected gardens that wrap around it. I worked in the yard most of the day and discovered, among other things, that my iris’s all had borers. (my original intention was to plant the bulbs I bought, but I didn’t quite get to it)
At any rate, I’m quite worried about my peonies (at least I was told they were peonies, I’m not entirely positive) They look quite dreadful, but I’m not sure if that’s how they are supposed to look this time of year?
Also, anyone have any idea what this bush/tree is? I have 3 of them, they are very pretty but kinda out of control. I’d like to trim them a bit I think. They seem to sprout new growths quite easily, I had fun time yanking out the small growths that spread all over.
Like I said, I’m not a gardener and I actually don’t really enjoy gardening yet. But, I do like pretty flowers and tidy beds, so perhaps once I get the hang of it all I’ll grow to love it. =)
