it’s raining jobs… i hope!
hey guys. a couple of questions, since y'all seem to have answers for everything. first, i have 2 job interviews this week, both for teaching positions. interview for position one is tuesday, interview for position two is wednesday. (there's also a private school that's supposed to be calling me, too.) position one is, technically, the better job. position two, however, while not as uh, prestigious, is closer to the things that i love... namely, belly dancing studios, debauchery, men who work offshore, and new orleans. so, let's go crazy for a minute, and pretend that position one wants to hire me. how do i politely decline to answer, until i have interviewed with position two? do i just say, "i'm overjoyed, but i have to think about it?" or "this sounds awesome, but i never make huge decisions without a night's sleep first?" or what? do i tell them i have another interview? i don't want to sound snotty, or like i'm going "if you don't hire me NOW, someone else will." (how is this a poor skill? well, ensuring that you have the best possible job for you is definitely a poor skill.) also.. what the hell do i wear? srslly, i'm thisclose to posting pics of my outfits, except that would be obnoxiously mean, even for me. (i've already been advised that sleeping with my potential employer in order to get the job is a no-no, so i guess crotchless stockings are off the wardrobe list.... jk! or am i?)
