I am a novice gardener and I have a quick question. My neighbor has ivy that is growing all over her fence. She told me I could take some, if I like, to cover up a couple pipes and posts that are in my yard. Can I just cut a bit off anywhere and then should I put it in water until there are shoots and then plant in the soil? If not, how would I do it? Also is it trainable and do I do that by watching it and then wrapping it the way I would like it to grow? Any help would be great. Thanks!
