Just a note on saving change

Just a note on saving change

We have a paint can that was actually a cookie tin which I use to save my change. We cut a hole in it and pushed the edges in with a screw driver to make them like a slot. I was given this can less than a month ago from my grandmother. I tapped in the edges to secure it and started saving ALL my change in it. I have always used mason jars and cups in the past, but now my 15 yr old likes to raid them for vending machine money for school. Well I bought this can in to the bank yesterday and there was $43.82 in change from ONE month!! What bothers me is I use to give my mom all my change when she came over. I have to wonder how much money I lost doing this. LOL She was upset to hear I switched banks to one that gives me free checks for life and will count my change for NO FEE! LOL (My old bank sucked) Also, My fiance opened up a checking account where I have mine and they gave me $20.00 directly in my account for the referral. So together I had enough to pay our cell phone bill! I am encouraged to save every penny I get back!
