Just a reminder ..
last night I was in a bit of a quandry when I wanted to do 2 things with money that is on my paypal. I tehcnically have enough for both items, the new Kurt Halsey tote bag (a christmas present).. and tickets to see Andy Bell from Erasure at a club where I live. So I went to buy the tickets and found out they were through Ticketmaster and about died. 15$ tickets with a 5.25 service charge each just went to 20.25 per ticket.. so 40.50 total PLUSshipping charges that ranged anywhere from 15 to 20$. HOLY HIGH HELL!! So 60$ for 30$ in tickets. Nice. There went the Kurt bag, which is 30$. So I went on the site for the club where Andy will be DJing and looked to see if I could get tickets from them.. and sure enough, 15$ cash only and its 2 blocks from the train by my hubbys work! Hes taking an extended lunch to go grab the tickets which will save us 30$ in the long run. So a reminder, always call the venue or check them out online to see if you can get tickets directly to save those nasty charges Ticket Master is walking away with. Another tip, if you have a local place where bands play, always check to see if you can register online with them. The Rave/Eagals Club in Millwaukee always sends me tons of free tickets to see concerts with them. We get tickets for anyone from Fear Factory(my husbands favorite band).. to Busta Rhymes.. and we even saw SoulFly for free and Korn with my kids. I get about $300 in tickets free each month, always something interesting and parking is free on the street. SO check around and see! If your in the Wisconsin area, www.therave.com is where we get all the freebies from. I always sign up for concert news now via email!
