Keeping a room warm
So it's winter where I live, and I have the basement room. We're all on a budget in this house so we're trying to keep the gas bill as low as possible. But that means that my room is always colder than the rest of the house. My windows are the glass block type so I don't think the window cover things will work for them. I did put some blankets up around the stairwell to try and keep the heat from escaping up that way a little. I also have a little ceramic heater that I borrowed from my Grandmother but that doesn't heat up more than just my bed area (and it's still using electricity). And I took the cover off the vent hole so now it's just completely open in hopes that if there's less blocking there will be more heat coming in. But I can't think of anything else to do. Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping my room warm without going out and buying more heaters or lots of supplies? *edit* I should also add that I'm looking to keep the whole room temperature up, not just my body warm because no matter how many blankets or sweaters I put on, if the air is cold my nose will be cold and I'll be uncomfortable. Sounds weird, I know, but that's just how my body works.
