just joined the community and noticed that a lot of people want to be environmentally friendly while still keeping costs low. one way i've done this is to use bar shampoo, and generally solid soaps for keeping me clean. you use only what you need each time you use the bar, with liquids generally you end up taking more than you need because of this bars tend to last a lot longer so you end up saving money. also there is less packaging that you end up throwing away and the packaging you do end up with is usually more biodegradable that the plastics a lot of liquid soaps come packaged in. i know i've seen shampoo bars and other type of bars at my local health food store and they are relatively cheap and tend to be cruelty free, vegan friendly and made out of organic ingredients. shampoo bars tend to last me about 7-8 months, other soaps tend to last me about 3-4 months and i end up using them about 4-5 times a week just for reference.
