“Leggy” tomato plants

“Leggy” tomato plants

My 'mater plants seem to have no leaves on the lowest part, about eight-ten inches... they're nice and full above that with tons of flowers and the makings of fruit. We had A LOT of rain in Connecticut the past few weeks.. could this be the cause? Other than that they look healthy. Has the excess rain/watering caused the loss of leaves? The squash, bush beans., cukes, beets and assorted 'stuff' looks great.
