lemon basil versus genovese basil

lemon basil versus genovese basil

basil 2009

Hello. I'm looking for closure. Several years ago, I bought two envelopes of basil seeds. One was lemon basil, the other was genovese basil. Only one of the variations grew. Frankly, what I remember is that the first plant that grew smelled nothing like what I expected and I discarded it thinking it was not basil at all. I'm having difficulty identifying with which basil I do have, and I'm wondering if there is a way to narrow down which basil I'm growing by it's appearance (and smell & taste). My guess is that this is lemon basil because of it's mouth watering smell and great taste in salads. I'm also looking for a way to start a seed exchange (genovese for lemon) or (genovese for artichoke seeds). the pots of basil
