Let’s all eat our lawns!

Let’s all eat our lawns!

I came to read and to post a question and I see everybody’s doing it!

I’ve made candied tangelos and like them. I’ve read about a treat that was popular with Victorian children called candied violets. I have what I think are wild violets growing in my lawn (I do not mind them at all, just like I don’t mind dandelions) and I want to candy them. Only I’m not sure that’s what they are. I’m a kinda new gardener and I don’t want to kill myself by mistaking a Pansy of Purple Death Flower for a Violet.

This is a pic of what I have.

Lets all eat our lawns!

There are also completely purple ones but they don’t look as robust.

So… whaddaya think? Can I eat it?
