Lettuce

So I’m growing lettuce for the first time ever. I started a late-season garden, and decided I wanted some Bibb lettuce (delicious), some romaine-style lettuce (can’t recall what it actually was, unfortunately), and some Swiss chard (which, while not lettuce, is close, and amazingly good).

The Bibb is doing great. I just plucked my first crop today and made a delicious salad out of what I had. Fantastic.

The other two? Not so much.

Does anybody have any tips for growing lettuce and Swiss chard? It’s getting plenty of water and sun shine, but the leaves seem to hang along the ground too much and get a bit droopy.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
