Lifting hyacinths?

Lifting hyacinths?

(Zone 8b/Coastal Washington state) This spring was balmy and mild, and some hyacinths tucked warmly in next to the house decided to grace us with their spring show early. They started blooming in mid-February and were done by mid-March. Now they are just a mass of floppy leaves, and one large clump is falling over on top of what looks to be a very promising little miniature rose. I'd really like to lift them, divide them, and re-plant them elsewhere but I'm finding conflicting reports as to whether they can tolerate this treatment before the foliage fades. Any thoughts?
