Lilac problem

Lilac problem

Sunscald, fungus, blight? I've been searching for good examples of lilac problems online but this doesn't match any of them exactly. Most of the lilac problems I read about describe the leaves as 'wilting' and this looks crunchy. This lilac is very small (it's basically a twig in the ground!) and gets full sun during the day. It's near two other lilac varieties but they don't have anything like this on them. (zone five) This started earlier in the summer as much smaller brown spots. (like in the upper lefthand side of the photo.) Syringa vulgaris IMG_4344
