long term poor skills
I love this idea of stating what we do to save money long-term.
I guess I'll state the obvious:
The hardest thing for me to give up and ultimately the most rewarding is giving up cable. I thought I'd die without it, being the couch potato that I am. But surprise! It's made life much easier. I don't waste time thinking about TV shows I don't need to watch, I don't watch any more than 1 hour of television a night, thus freeing me up to do things like write, read, hang out with friends or my girlfriend and working out.
The other big thing I do now is eat at home. I know, obvious... but when I was younger and even more poor than I am now, I ate out constantly. It was kind of like I was living in this fantasy world where I had more money than I did. I wanted to live like I had money, so I did.... and I was in so much debt because of it.
I like the broken car/truck fund. I need to start saving for that myself.
Hope this helps!
